TOPICS :

Day 1 : Basic and advanced features of SDL Trados Workbench (used for translation of word documents, translation memory management)

Day 2 : SDL Trados TagEditor (used for translation of Excel, PowerPoint,HTML, XML, FrameMaker and other file formats). Multiterm (terminology management module, conversion of Excel glossary into Multiterm format)

At the end of each day, 30-60 minutes will be reserved for demo on SDL Trados usage for Indian languages.

Audience: Beginner to advanced users. First half of first day would be devoted to basics of SDL Trados.

Participant requirement: As this is a hands-on workshop, participants can practice using SDL Trados along with the trainer. It will be helpful if you get your laptop to the workshop. Two-three participants can share a laptop.

Course Material : Comprehensive printed manual (in English) would be provided. This will provide step-by-step instructions.

Course Fees : The participation fees for the two-day program is Rs.5,500. This includes lunch, tea, and course material. There is a special early-bird discount of Rs.250 if you send your payment by 18th August 2008. For members of AITA (new translation association started this year, please visit http://www.aita.org.in for membership details), there is a further special discount of Rs.250.

In addition, SDL Trados has offered a special discount of Rs.10,000 to all participants on purchase of new freelance license.

The current price of freelance license is Rs.25,900 (inclusive of all taxes, outside Karnataka) and Rs. 24,200 (within Karnataka). After discount, the price will be Rs.15,900 (outside Karnataka) and Rs. 14,200 (within Karnataka).

SDL Trados has discontinued supply of materials pack (product CDs/DVDs and manuals) as these can be downloaded from their website. They used to charge Rs.3,800 extra for the materials pack and with it the total cost was Rs.25,900 + Rs.3,800 = Rs.29,700. If desired, we can download the software on your behalf and send on CD/DVD. We will charge Rs 500 for this.

Delivery period of the software: 2-3 working days, by email. SDL Trados will send the softkey license details directly to the email id given by you. Please send your complete address and email id. It would be advisable if you purchase the software prior to attending the workshop so that you can have some practise in advance.
