Quality & Translation Workflow – Trans Infopreneur Inc.
At Trans Infopreneur, quality is built into every stage of the workflow — not added at the end. Our processes are designed to meet the expectations of European translation agencies, publishers, and corporate localisation teams who require accuracy, consistency, and production reliability.
We follow two controlled workflows based on project needs:
- Human Translation + Editing + Proofreading (TEP)
- Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE)
Both workflows are supported by project-specific style guides, terminology control, CAT tools, and final QA checks.
1. Human Translation + Editing + Proofreading (TEP)
This is our primary quality workflow for technical, legal, medical, patent, and IT documentation.
Step 1 – Translation
- Performed by domain-expert translators
- Subject-matter familiarity is mandatory (engineering, legal, medical, IT, etc.)
- Translation is created using:
- Approved terminology
- Client-specific preferences
- Existing Translation Memories (if available)
Step 2 – Editing
- Performed by a separate senior reviewer
- Focus areas:
- Accuracy of meaning
- Terminology consistency
- Technical correctness
- Grammar and sentence structure
- Industry-appropriate tone
Step 3 – Proofreading
- Final clean-up stage before delivery
- Focus areas:
- Typographical errors
- Formatting issues
- Consistency checks
- Final readability
This three-layer process ensures that the final text is not only linguistically correct, but also ready for real-world professional use.
2. MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing)
MTPE is used only where appropriate and only with clear client understanding of scope and limitations.
How We Handle MTPE
- Machine output is reviewed by human editors, not automated scripts
- Editors apply:
- The same project style guides
- The same approved terminology
- The same QA checks used in full TEP
- The focus is to ensure:
- Correct meaning
- Natural sentence flow
- Professional readability
MTPE is never used for high-risk legal, safety-critical medical, or compliance-heavy documents without explicit confirmation.
3. Project-Specific Style Guides
For every recurring client or large project, we create a custom style guide, which defines:
- Language register (formal, neutral, instructional)
- Preferred terminology choices
- Capitalisation and punctuation rules
- Units, measurements, and formatting rules
- Do-not-use terms
This ensures:
- Consistency across versions
- Stability across future updates
- Uniform output across multiple translators
4. Terminology Control & Dictionaries
- Over 1,000+ domain-specific printed dictionaries
- Client-approved terminology in SDL MultiTerm
- Subject-wise termbases (legal, medical, IT, engineering, etc.)
This avoids:
- Use of different words for the same technical term
- Different names used for the same product
- Different wording across documents
5. Phrase-Mapping Tables & Explanatory Diagrams (When Needed)
- Phrase-mapping tables (source sentence vs final edited sentence shown side by side)
- Simple explanatory diagrams (for process, structure, or logic explanation)
These are typically provided for:
- Engineering instructions
- Process documentation
- Safety or compliance content
6. CAT Tools, TMs & Workflow Control
- SDL Trados
- Alchemy Catalyst
- MultiTerm
- WinAlign for TM creation
This ensures:
- Correct text segmentation
- Consistent terminology usage
- Reuse of past translations
- Clear version tracking
- Lower long-term cost
7. Final QA Before Delivery
- Tag verification (for Trados/Catalyst)
- Formatting consistency check
- File integrity check
- Language completeness check
This prevents:
- Broken layouts
- Missing segments
- Corrupt files
- Software string errors
8. What This Means for Translation Agencies
- Predictable and stable quality
- Consistent terminology across projects
- Lower risk of client complaints
- Faster updates for revised files
- Controlled MTPE where applicable
9. How We Start New Projects
- We begin with a small pilot file (~500 words) at no cost
- This allows you to:
- Check real working quality
- Check communication clarity
- Verify delivery performance
10. Supported Services Under This Workflow
- Human TEP (Translation + Editing + Proofreading)
- MTPE
- Trados & Catalyst project setup
- DTP & multilingual layout
- OCR & digitisation
- TM creation & alignment
